Wheat Seeds are Items that are used in Farming. They were added in Update 0.4.0.
Obtaining[]
Wheat Seeds can be obtained by mining Tall Grass, and Double Tall Grass. They can also be obtained by breaking Wheat Crops.
Usage[]
When planted on a Block of hydrated Farmland, Wheat Seeds will slowly grow into a mature wheat crop. This process can be sped up by continuously using Bone Meal on it. It can also be used in Breeding and attracting Chickens.
Trivia[]
- Wheat grows much faster in warm Biomes (excluding Deserts and Mesa Biomes) and in hydrated Farmland.
- Wheat Seeds can also be planted in unhydrated farmland, but will not grow as fast as in hydrated farmland.
- As of Update 0.12.1, Wheat crops will always drop Seeds, irrespective of the growth stage.
- After Update 0.12.1, Grass Blocks no longer drop seeds when a Hoe is used on them.
- Wheat has 4 stages of growth, meaning the Player needs 3 Bone Meal to make it harvestable after it has just been planted.
- However, in Creative Mode, the Player only needs to apply 1 Bone Meal, irrespective of the growth stage.
