Vines are non-solid Blocks added in Update 0.9.0. They act similar to Ladders, except they do not need to be placed on the side of a block.

Obtaining[]

Vines grow on many different Trees, although they are more common on Oak Trees and Jungle Trees. They can only be obtained by using Shears.

Trivia[]

  • Bedrock Exclusive: Dying trees of all sorts will also have Vines.
  • Vines are similar to Mycelium; both spread from block to block.
  • Vines can spread on nearly any block, except Bedrock.
  • If Vines are placed on Cobblestone, the Vines will grow, and after a while also decay.
  • Vines cannot be climbed if they are not adjoining a block; the Player will just walk through.
    • Although if the Player sneaks/crouches, he/she will be able to climb Vines.
  • Vines can spread around surface to surface if left alone (including Leaves in Update 0.12.1).
