Update 0.4.0

A Trapdoor is an interactive Block that can be placed on a vertical surface. It can be placed on the bottom and top sides of a Block. It was added in Alpha 0.4.0.

Types[]

Obtaining[]

Trapdoors can be obtained by Crafting them in a Crafting Table.

Crafting[]

Usage[]

  • Trapdoors can be used in automatic Mob farms and Mob traps.
    • This is because Mobs consider open Trapdoors as a solid Block, and they will walk through them, causing them to fall in pits beneath the Trapdoor.
  • Trapdoors can be used to make secret compartments, or just for decoration.

Trivia[]

  • Bug: If the Player destroys a Block next to an open Trapdoor, it will close as soon as the Block is destroyed.
    • This also occurs with Wooden Doors. If a Door is placed beside a Trapdoor, it will close when the Player opens the Door. It is unsure whether this will be fixed in a future Update.
  • As of Update 0.15.0, Trapdoors will no longer break once the Blocks supporting them are removed.
    • This also then means that the player can place it on a block without needing any blocks to place it on.
  • The Player can walk on the side of an open Trapdoor.
  • Standing with a Wooden Trapdoor next to the Player's lower half, the Trapdoor can be closed making the Trapdoor go through the Player.
  • Trapdoors can be used to create Airlocks.
  • Like all Wood-related Blocks, Wooden Trapdoors can be used as Fuel in a Furnace.
  • Trapdoors naturally spawn in Igloos.
    • They are used to access the basement of the Igloo.
