Update 1.0.4 |
Trading is a mechanic that was added in Update 1.0.4. It allows the Player to trade with Villagers using items or Emeralds.
Mechanics[]
Trading involves the Player offering a Villager Emeralds for any item they may be selling, or vice-versa. The items/Emeralds will then be taken away from the Player's Inventory, and the Player will gain the item he/she traded for.
What a Villager is willing to trade is related to their occupation. Farmers are more likely to trade Wheat, while a blacksmith is more likely to trade Tools.
There are also several tiers of trading. This means that what a specific Villager is offering the Player is dependent on which trades they have done before. Higher tier merchandise are more valuable items, and cost slightly more than other items.
Trivia[]
- After a trade, Villagers release particles which let the Player know the trade is successful, and that a new trade is available.
- If the Player trades with a Villager too many times, it will not allow the Player to trade any items.
- It is widely accepted most Villager trades are unfair.
