Stairs are Blocks that were added Update 0.3.0.
Obtaining[]
Stairs can be obtained by Crafting them, however they spawn naturally in many places. After Update 0.9.0, Stone Brick Stairs naturally generate in Strongholds, while Cobblestone and Oak Wood Stairs naturally generate in Villages in the same update. After Update 1.0, Spruce Wood Stairs act as corners of a table generated within Igloos.

Usage[]
Stairs can be used to change the Player's elevation in a compact and useful way. They can also be used as Decorations.
Trivia[]
- The Player cannot place Torches on Stairs normally, but he/she can do so on upside down ones.
- The Nether Brick Stairs' texture was brightened after Update 0.14.2.
- A longer and less compact alternative to Stairs are Slabs.
- Wooden Stairs can be used as Fuel in a Furnace.
- Some Stairs were crafted in a Stonecutter, before it was removed in Update 0.13.0.
- In Update 0.3.0, there was only Cobblestone and Wood Stairs.
- In Update 0.6.0, most of the other stairs were added, like Smooth Stone, Brick, Quartz, Sandstone and Nether Brick Stairs, and the variants of Upside Down and Corner Stairs.
- In Update 1.0, Purpur Stairs were added.
- In Update 1.4, Prismarine, Dark Prismarine, and Prismarine Brick Stairs were added.
