Snow Blocks are Blocks that were added in Alpha 0.1.0.

Obtaining[]

Snow Blocks can be obtained by finding them in Ice Plains, Cold Taiga, and Ice Spike Biomes, and mining them with a Silk Touch Shovel, or they can be crafted from Snowballs.

4 Snowballs => 1 Snow Block

Usage[]

Snow Blocks are used to create Snow Golems. They also serve as a compact way to store Snowballs, or as a Decoration.

Trivia[]

Snow Blocks do not melt when near a heat source, unlike Top Snow.
As of Update 0.12.1, Snow can be used to create Snow Golems.
In some pre-Update 0.9.0 worlds, there were no Snowy Tundras, and thus it was impossible to obtain this block.
Snow Blocks are often confused with white Wool or Quartz blocks.
Bug: There is a bug where all Snow blocks within a certain Chunk will decay into Snow layers when it is snowing.
If using a Diamond Shovel or Golden Shovel, the Snow Block can break instantly by tapping on it.
