Redstone Ore, added in Update 0.1.0, is an Ore Block that can be mined to drop Redstone using an Iron Pickaxe or higher.
Obtaining[]
Redstone Ore can be found deep underground below layer 15 of the world. It spawns in large veins like Coal Ore and drops 4-5 pieces of Redstone at a time. The ore block itself can be obtained by using a Pickaxe Enchanted with Silk Touch.
Usage[]
When triggered, Redstone Ore emits a Light Level of 9 and a particle effect. This also occurs when it is being mined. It will remain lit until it receives a block tick (approximately 68 seconds). Hence, it can be used as temporary lighting.
Triggering[]
When Redstone Ore is tapped, updated or walked on by any Mob or the Player, it gets triggered and emits light. Observer Blocks can also be activated if the block is triggered. However, a redstone signal will not be emitted.
Trivia[]
