Update 0.8.0 |
Rails are Blocks that were added in Update 0.8.0.
Obtaining[]
The main way to obtain these is by Crafting them. They can also be found naturally in Abandoned Mineshafts.
Crafting[]
- 6 Iron Ingots + 1 Stick => 16 Rails
Usage[]
Rails can be placed down like any normal block or Item, and when a Minecart is placed down on a Rail, the Player can ride in it. While being placed, the Player should note it will appear facing them, vertically. If a horizontally-placed Rail and a vertically-placed Rail are beside each other, they will form either a right-turning or left-turning Rail. They are used to carry Minecarts.
Trivia[]
- Rails may be found in large quantities inside Abandoned Mineshafts and Mesa Mineshafts.
- Like Flowers and other vegetation, a Rail will be destroyed if the block below it is broken.
- Using a Lever, or any Redstone item on a T-shaped rail track will cause the curving Rail to switch.
- Rails can be pushed by Pistons.
- Rails actually float above the Block underneath them, as shown in the picture.
- The texture of the curved Rail resembles the texture of a pickaxe.
