The stages of Pumpkin stem growth

The stages of Pumpkin stem growth

Pumpkins can spawn naturally in small patches in Plains, Swamp, Savannah, Jungle and Taiga Biomes. They can also be grown manually by using Pumpkin Seeds.

Crafting[]

Usage[]

By placing 2 Snow Blocks and 1 Pumpkin on top of each other, a Snow Golem can be created. Also, by placing 4 Iron Blocks and 1 Pumpkin in a T-formation, an Iron Golem can be created. They can be also worn as protection against Enderman aggravation.

As of Update 1.0.4, Pumpkins can also be Traded for using Emeralds.

Trivia[]

  • Pumpkins are actually mined faster with an Axe, unlike Melons, Cobwebs, and Jack O'Lanterns, which are mined faster with a Sword.
  • It is possible to shear a pumpkin to obtain a carved pumpkin.
  • It is possible to obtain 1-2 pumpkin seeds when carving a pumpkin.
  • No matter how Pumpkins are placed, the stem on top of the pumpkin always points in the same direction, Northwest.
  • Pumpkins cannot be placed without a Block being under them.
    • However, they will not get destroyed if there is no block beneath them.
  • Pumpkins have a lower chance of generating than Diamond Ore.
  • Before Update 1.4, Pumpkins were carved by default.
