Polar Bears are Neutral Mobs that were added in Update 1.0.

Spawning

Polar Bears spawn naturally in Snowy Biomes.

Baby Polar Bears can also spawn. In general, Polar Bears have a ¹/₁₀ chance to spawn as a Baby Polar Bear.

Behavior

Polar Bears remain Neutral unless a cub is nearby, in which case they will become hostile towards the Player. Cubs will always be passive and will never attack the Player.

If a Polar Bear becomes hostile, it will become Neutral again after 500 seconds, if not further aggravated. After Update 1.0.4, Polar Bears close to an aggravated Polar Bear will also become Hostile.

• Since Polar Bears can swim faster than Players, they are very dangerous in Water.
