Podzol is a Block that was added in Update 0.9.0.

Obtaining[]

Podzol generates naturally only in Mega Taiga Biomes. Unlike Mycelium, it does not spread to other Dirt Blocks.

For the Player to pick it up a Silk Touch Enchanted Tool must be used, or else it'll turn into Dirt.

Usage[]

Podzol is the Block used to grow Spruce Trees in Mega Taiga Biomes. Mushrooms can grow on Podzol on any light level.

Trivia[]

It has similar qualities to Dirt, except Grass cannot grow on it.
Podzol cannot be converted into Farmland or Grass Paths.
Podzol takes longer to mine than Dirt.
Dead Bushes can be placed on Podzol.
Moss Stone can be found in the Mega Taiga Biome on top of Podzol.
Flowers can be grown on Podzol as if it were normal Dirt.
