Paper is an Item added in Update 0.3.0.
Obtaining[]
Paper can be found naturally in Chests in Strongholds. They can also be obtained through crafting.
Crafting[]
- 3 Sugarcane => 3 Paper
- 3 Paper + 1 Leather => 1 Book
- 9 Paper => 1 Map
- Any Firework Star + 1 Paper + 1-3 Gunpowder => 1 Firework Rocket
Usage[]
Paper can be used to craft Books and Maps. It can also be Traded for Emeralds after Update 1.0.4.
Trivia[]
- Paper was considered useless before Update 0.12.1 as it was used to craft books, which in turn had no real benefit to the player at the time.
- Maps can be upgraded with paper in an Anvil to make a map with a much larger zoomed out perspective.
- Before Update 0.9.0, when the Player was going to make paper in the Crafting Table, it would say its usage was to make maps even though the item wasn't implemented in Minecraft at the time.
