Lanterns are Blocks that were added in Update 1.9. They were officially implemented in Update 1.10.

Lanterns can be obtained by crafting them or finding them in Villages.

- 8 Iron Nuggets + 1 Torch => 1 Lantern
Usage[]
Lanterns can be used to illuminate dark/low lit areas and can be hung under most solid blocks. They can also be used for decoration.
Trivia[]
- Lanterns give off a light level of 15, which is one level higher than torches.
- Lanterns were originally planned to be added to Minecraft in 2011.
