Kelp is an underwater plant Block that was added in Update 1.4.[1]
Appearence[]
Kelp appears as large green plants that can stretch up for dozens of blocks and touch the surface level of the ocean.[2]
Obtaining[]
Kelp in Item form
Breaking part of a Kelp stalk will destroy the entire stalk. Each block has an undetermined chance to drop a Kelp item. Kelp grows underwater at an undetermined rate and can only grow into a water block with water above it.
Smelting[]
- 1 Kelp + Any Fuel => 1 Dried Kelp
Usage[]
Kelp can be smelted into Dried Kelp, which can be eaten to restore .5 Hunger Points (
) or Crafted into Dried Kelp Blocks .
Trivia[]
- The larger, green variation of Kelp will have an animation of "leaves moving with the current".
