Update 0.1.0 |
Gravel is a naturally occurring Block mostly found underground. It was added in Update 0.1.0.
Obtaining[]
Gravel generates in small patches in Caves and in other Underground Structures. Rarely, it can also be found on the surface. Gravel can also be found in small patches near Water Bodies, and in small veins in the Nether.
Before Update 0.11.0, Gravel used to generate naturally as the roads in Villages. However, it was replaced by Grass Paths.
Crafting[]
- 4 Sand + 4 Gravel => 8 Concrete Powder
Usage[]
Gravel is used to obtain Flint. When mined, it has a 1/5 chance to drop 1 Flint. Gravel also obeys Gravity.
Trivia[]
- As of Update 0.9.0, Gravel no longer falls unless a Block is placed or destroyed near it.
- Gravel breaks upon falling on Torches, Flowers, Saplings, and other non-solid Blocks, but will never drop Flint.
- If pushed upwards by a Piston, Gravel breaks when the Piston retracts.
- Before Update 0.8.0, Gravel had a different texture.
- Gravel Blocks that are liable to collapse release small particles.
- Bedrock Exclusive: Naturally generated Gravel doesn't collapse when mined using a Silk Touch Enchanted Pickaxe.
- When Gravel is falling, it becomes an entity, so it can be Fished towards the Player with a Fishing Rod. This is also true for Sand and Concrete Powder.
