Update 0.11.0 |
Grass Paths (aka Road Blocks or Pressed Dirt) are Blocks added in Update 0.11.0.
Obtaining[]
Grass Paths are made by tapping Grass Blocks with any type of Shovel. To actually obtain the Grass Path Block the Player must dig it using a Tool Enchanted with Silk Touch. If dug by hand or tools are employed, an ordinary Dirt Block is obtained.
Grass Paths also generate naturally in Villages.
Usage[]
Grass Paths can be used for decorative purposes, but their main purpose is to replace Gravel paths in Villages. Also, unlike Dirt, they will not grow into Grass, making them useful for pathways.
As Grass Paths let light through, the Player can place torches (or other light sources) underneath the Grass Path and this will light up the area around the Grass Path.
Trivia[]
- Grass Paths are only 15/16 the height of a normal Dirt Block.
- Dirt Blocks cannot be converted into Grass Paths.
- Grass Paths resemble the Grass found in Savannahs due to their yellowish color.
- It is due to Grass Paths that Iron Shovels were added to the Creative Mode Inventory. Later, all other Tools followed.
- Bedrock Exclusive: Until Minecraft Java Edition version 1.9, Grass Paths were exclusive for Bedrock.
- Like Grass, Mycelium, Podzol, and Farmland, Grass Paths will turn into Dirt when mined, or when another Block is placed on them.
