Glowing Obsidian is a Block that is created briefly whenever the Nether Reactor is activated. Glowing Obsidian first appeared in Update 0.5.0.
Obtaining[]
It is unobtainable in Minecraft currently unless inventory editors or mods are used, and can be found only if the Player destroyed the core when the reactor started working before Update 0.12.1.
Usage[]
The Gold and Cobblestone blocks convert into this block once the Nether Reactor Core is used.
Trivia[]
- It takes the same amount of time as regular Obsidian to mine, but when mined without the Silk Touch Enchantment, the block drops as normal Obsidian.
- It emits red smoke particles when the Player is close to it, similar to Redstone Ore.
- It could be mined with an Iron Pickaxe before Update 0.7.3.
