Glass is a Block added in the Pre-Release of Minecraft Bedrock Edition.
Obtaining[]
Glass is primarily obtained through smelting. Glass can also be obtained by breaking the Block with a Silk Touch Enchanted Pickaxe. After Update 1.0.4, Glass can also be Traded for using Emeralds.

- 6 Glass => 16 Glass Panes
- 3 Glass => 3 Glass Bottles
- 3 Glass + 3 Nether Quartz + 3 Wooden Slabs => 1 Daylight Sensor
- 8 Glass + Any Dye => 8 Stained Glass
- 5 Glasses + 1 Nether Star + 3 Obsidian => 1 Beacon
- 7 Glass + 1 Ghast Tear + 1 Eye of Ender => 1 End Crystal
Smelting[]
Usage[]
Glass mainly functions as an aesthetic Block, to allow light to enter builds and allow luminosity as it is transparent. It can also be used to detect Hostile Mobs without leaving the build, therefore avoiding potential death. Glass can also be used for Decorating.
Trivia[]
- Wolves will not teleport if the Player is standing on Glass.
- As of Update 0.9.0, Glass got a new look in which the Player can see the sides.
- Torches cannot be placed on the sides of the Glass.
- However, it can be placed on the top of the Glass.
- As of Update 1.2 Torches can be placed on Glass.
- Adjacent Glass become invisible when viewed through Glass.
- If the Player places a Slab, a Daylight Sensor, or anything under a full Block, the Glass will also become invisible.
- Hostile Mobs cannot spawn on Glass.
- Mobs can not look through Glass since Glass is a solid Block.
- Tamed Wolves can teleport into glass.
- As of Update 1.0.4, Glass can be bought from Villagers.
