Ender Chests are entity Blocks that were added in Update 1.0.
Obtaining[]
Ender Chests are mainly obtained by Crafting. They can also be found in End Cities.
Crafting[]
- 8 Obsidian + 1 Eye Of Ender => 1 Ender Chest
Usage[]
Ender Chests function similarly to Chests, but any Items placed in one will be accessible from other Ender Chests. Additionally, Ender Chests have separate interfaces for every Player so Players cannot steal each others' items.
To be picked up the Player must use a Silk Touch enabled tool, or else only 8 Obsidian will be dropped.
Trivia[]
- Ender Chests have a blast resistance of 3000.
- Ender Chests are good for creating checkpoints so the Player doesn't lose his/her Items upon death.
- It was officially stated at Minecon 2013 that Ender Chests were planned for a future update of Minecraft.
- Unlike normal Chests, when the Player puts another Ender Chest next to one, it will not expand to make a Double Chest.
- When broken, Ender Chests will not drop the items stored in it.
