Update 0.9.0 |
The End Portal Frame is a Block that was added to Minecraft in Update 0.9.0.
Obtaining[]
An End Portal Frame can either be found as a Block in the Creative Inventory, or generated as part of an End Portal in a Stronghold. However, it cannot be obtained legitimately in Survival Mode.
Usage[]
Prior to Update 1.0, the End Portal Frame could only be used for Decorations. After Update 1.0, however, these blocks consitute the End Portal, which can be completed to enter The End, using Eyes Of Ender. Some Frames can spawn with Eyes of Ender naturally, but 12 Eyes of Ender are needed to complete the Portal.
Trivia[]
- End Portal Frames are only 13/16th the height of a regular Block.
- End Portal Frames with Eyes of Ender are treated as completely different Blocks.
- In certain 0.9.0 alpha builds, the Frames with Eyes could be placed from the Creative Mode inventory.
- In Update 0.16.0, end portal frames with eyes can be placed with commands.
- After Update 0.12.1, End Portal Frames can be rotated based on the direction they were placed.
- End Portal frames cannot be Crafted or mined in Survival Mode.
- When broken, they make a sound identical to that made when Glass or Glowstone is broken.
