Carpets are Blocks added in Update 0.8.0.
Obtaining[]
Carpets are primarily obtained through Crafting. They can also be found generating naturally as tabletops in Villages and floorings in Woodland Mansions.
Crafting[]
- 2 Wool => 3 Carpet
Usage[]
Carpets are used mainly for Decorative purposes. They can be used for flooring, as they are cheaper to use than normal Wool, and can be used to cover any type of material, including Dirt, Wood, Stone etc.
As of Update 1.1, they can be equipped on Llamas.
Trivia[]
- Carpets do not block the effect of Blocks underneath them. (Eg. If they are placed on Ice, they will be slippery)
- Carpets allow light to pass through them.
- Carpets are only 1/16 of a Block.
- Thus, the Player can place them on top of each other, making it seem to hover.
- Carpets block Bookshelves from increasing an Enchantment Table's Enchantment.
- After Update 0.9.0, all colors can be crafted in Survival.
- Before, only Red Carpets were craftable.
- When walking on Carpets, it plays the sound of the Block below it.
- Also while sprinting, the particles of the Block below show.
