Obtaining[]
Books can be naturally found in Strongholds or can be crafted in a Crafting Table.
Crafting[]
- 3 Paper + 1 Leather => 1 Book
- 3 Books + 6 Wooden Planks => 1 Bookshelf
- 4 Obsidian + 2 Diamonds + 1 Book => 1 Enchantment Table
- 1 Book + 1 Feather + 1 Ink Sac => 1 Book and Quill
Usage[]
Books can be used to craft Bookshelves and Enchantments Tables. After Update 1.0.4, Books can also be Traded for Emeralds.
Trivia[]
- Before Update 0.12.1, crafting Books required only 3 paper.
- Books cannot currently be written in, however this may be added in a future update.
- Breaking a bookshelf will yield Books instead of the actual bookshelf unless a Tool enchanted with Silk Touch is used.
- Since Update 0.12.1, books can be Enchanted.
- Enchanting a book in an enchantment table will yield the chosen enchantment as well as a possibility for 1-2 extra enchantments.
- Enchanted Books can also be found while Fishing, however they are very rare.
