Boats are entities that serve as a mode of transportation across Water. They move in a way similar to how Minecarts move along Rails. They were added in Update 0.11.0.
Obtaining[]
Boats can be obtained by Crafting them in a Crafting Table.
Crafting[]
- 5 Wooden Planks + 1 Wooden Shovel => 1 Boat (Planks must be of the same type)
Usage[]
Boats can be used as an efficient and quicker way to get across large oceans or lakes without the need to swim across instead. Boats are able to hold two Players/Mobs.
To pick up a Boat, hit it with a Sword three times.
Steering[]
Boats can be steered by using the arrow buttons on both sides of the screen. Pressing them together will make the boat travel in a straight line.
Trivia[]
- Different types of Boats can be made using different Wooden Planks.
- The Boat icon was updated in Update 0.12.1 to represent paddles.
- There was once a glitch that the boat would sink into the Block that it was placed on; however this was fixed in Update 0.14.1.
- When Boats hit Lily Pads, only the Lily Pad will break.
- Boats do not break easily.
- Like all wooden products, Boats can be used as Fuel in a Furnace.
- The texture under Boats is mossy.
