A Block of Gold is a Block that is used to store Gold Ingots. It was added in Alpha 0.1.0.
Obtaining[]
Blocks of Gold can be obtained by Crafting them in a Crafting Table. As of Update 0.16.0, Blocks of Gold spawn naturally inside Ocean Monuments.
Crafting[]
- 9 Gold Ingots => 1 Block of Gold
- 1 Block of Gold => 9 Gold Ingots
- 8 Blocks of Gold + 1 Apple => 1 Enchanted Apple
Usage[]
The main usage of Blocks of Gold is to store Gold Ingots more compactly. Prior to Update 0.12.1, four Blocks of Gold, along with fourteen pieces of Cobblestone and the Nether Reactor Core, would make the Nether Reactor. As of Update 0.16.0, it is used to power Beacons.
Trivia[]
- Blocks of Gold are now much easier to Craft due to Infinite Worlds and Caves.
- Blocks of Gold were the only Mineral Blocks with an actual use other than as a Decoration until Update 0.12.1, when the actual Nether was added.
- They have similar textures to Blocks of Diamond, just recolored yellow.
