Update 0.12.1 |
Blazes are Hostile Mobs that were added in Update 0.12.1.
Spawning[]
Blazes spawn in the Nether in Nether Fortresses, primarily from Blaze Spawners, although they occasionally spawn naturally without Spawners.
Behavior[]
Although Blazes are able to fly, they will stay on the ground or sink down slowly in the air when not attacking a Player.
Blazes target Players within a 48-Block radius, and attack by shooting 3 fireballs at him/her which sets him/her on Fire. If the Player gets close, they can also attack by charging at the Player.
Combat[]
Blazes can be killed easily using a high-tier Sword, but in open spaces, Bows are recommended. They can also be killed easily if the Player has Snowballs.
Trivia[]
- Blazes actually do not have a 'body'. In-game textures prove that their insides are hollow.
- Blazes, Snow Golems and Endermen are the only Mobs that take damage from Water and rain.
- Blazes are also the only mobs that take damage from snowballs.
- Blaze's fireballs cannot harm the Players if they have the Fire Resistance Effect, thus nullifying their attacks.
- Before Update 0.13.0, Blazes were the only mobs that attacked the Player in Creative.
- The mobs which can fly include (listed in order of addition to Minecraft): Bats, Ghasts, Blazes, Withers, Ender Dragons, Vexes, and Parrots.
