Obtaining[]

Bedrock is impossible to obtain in Survival Mode as it cannot be mined, even with a Diamond Pickaxe.

Usage[]

In Survival, Bedrock serves as an unbreakable layer between the Overworld and The Void. It also serves as the top-most and bottom-most layers of the Nether. It can also be used to create impenetrable structures in Creative Mode.

Trivia[]

Bedrock makes up the majority of End Gateway Portals.
Before Update 0.6.1, a Diamond Pickaxe would break after attempting to mine bedrock for 20 minutes. This was due to bedrock being unbreakable.
