Achievements are an in-game mechanic that was added in Update 0.15.0. They are a way to gradually guide new Players into Minecraft and give them challenges to complete. 

Obtaining

Achievements can be obtained by completing certain challenges in Survival Mode. These challenges need to be done in a world which has never been opened in Creative Mode, and has not had Cheats enabled. Achievements can neither be achieved if the Player has any enabled Behavior Packs in the world.

Trivia

• Currently the only way to access achievements is to have an Xbox Live account.
• The "Cow Tipper" achievement can be obtained by killing Horses and Mooshrooms as well. It can also be obtained by simply crafting leather using Rabbit Hide.
• The "Diamonds to You" achievement can also be obtained by throwing a diamond to a Zombie.
• The "Smelt Everything" set-up cannot be used to achieve the "Delicious Fish" achievement. For the latter, Raw Fish has to be manually placed in the Furnace.
• For "Map Room", the Player needs to place the map pieces without rotating them.
