Hello everyone! Our next elections are planned to take place in 2 weeks from now, and they will be the rollback elections!
For those of you who do not know what a rollback is, they are staff who can undo multiple edits from a user with a click of a button. These rights help battle against vandalism and unnecessary edits quite easily. In addition, rollbacks are allowed to "mini-mod", meaning they are allowed to tell users what to do, and they are allowed to enforce the rules. Rollbacks are often considered as Moderators on this wiki, and for good reason. All current staff have the rollback rights already, so only normal users (includes EditProtected) can get this position.
Know what a rollback is, what their duties are, and when the elections for it are going to take place? Awesome! I guess you may be ready for our slight twist.
But frankly, it is not slight at all. Because, for these elections, we will not have one rollback decided. Not two. But three rollbacks! Indeed. Here's how it will work:
The elections process will take place normally, with users applying and voters voting for the candidate they think is best for the position. However, the hosts of the election will not only announce the candidate who got first place in numbers of votes, but will also announce the 2nd and 3rd place winners! These three users will be promoted to rollbacks.
Initially, we were going to have three seperate rollback elections. However, we decided to have this type of election as it is more efficient and works the same way, except in a shorter time frame.
Remember, these elections will not take place until 2 weeks, so users who are thinking about applying, this is your time to prepare so as to make your application look well rounded and appealing to voters.
I expect a lot of questions, so feel free to ask down below. :)
